The Hoxton, Amsterdam
Outstanding staff - I travel every week for work, so typically a hotel is a place to store your luggage. This was different. The hotel itself is a great location, walking distance to lots of things to do. The food and drinks offered were impossible. What I mean is, it was next to impossible to select just one thing, at every meal. I could stay there for a week and never need to go out, but that would defeat the purpose of the great location.
Really it was the staff that went above and beyond. They over heard us talking during check in, about where we going to go for our anniversary dinner. When we came back from a walk, they had chilled champagne and strawberries in the room with a nice hand written card.
The rooms were impressive but that could be because we were coming off a river cruise, so any room would seem large. I guess I have to go back to see for sure.
Overall the hotel was fine, expensive but centrally located with small but comfortable rooms
The issue I had was the credit card I’ve used for 9 years was compromised for the first time at the Hoxton.
As soon as I checked out of the hotel, within one hour someone in the US attempts to buy something online with it.
Their security must be the worst if someone in the US can hack their reservation details to use my credit card
Delicious homemade Kombucha, brunch are the best, staff is super welcome. Finally a good service in Amsterdam ! You scan the QR code on the table to wet the menu, love a bit a corona friendly technology.
Such a nice atmosphere, staff, food and drinks. Really nice for remote working. Next time I come to Amsterdam I’ll book a room
Very cosy place in the heart of Amsterdam with the best hot chocolate cake in town (according to me :) ).
