We came here because it's one of rare places in Rotterdam which have play corner for kids. And I got quite strange impression about this place. From one side staff is friendly and helpful, but from other side I had waited for half an hour before the waitress came to me (after 2 reminders!). Staff apologized in the end, but when you are hungry with a small kid it's not so easy to handle long waiting time. They have toys, nice books for kids, enough space, great assortment (also low or medium fat yoghurt) and it's cozy place in general. Yoghurt was tasty, probably it's a good option for breakfast, but coffee is nothing special, cappuccino tasted like a normal one from a coffeemaker.
On Sunday morning we ordered a cappuccino and two coffees. A simple order one would think, but for the Yoghurt Barn employees it proved an immensely difficult task this particular morning. A young, blonde lady forgot our order and after twenty minutes it dawned on her that we were indeed longingly waiting on our caffeine treats like the little caffeine addicts that we are.
You'd think she would react, but ten minutes passed by of her not doing much. In fact, she stepped back into the kitchen when we glanced in her direction. It wasn't that busy, but when we walked toward the register to inform her that we were late and that they could discard the order, she gave us a perfunctory apology blaming it on the incredible busyness. Sure...
In short, we found temporary refuge from the unforgiving cold and wind, but this did not include service and politeness. We won't visit again for rude and careless employees taint the ever so decisive first impression of a business, regardless of how good their food and beverage might be.
The place is super cozy and beautiful, i would go back for a coffee. Not to eat though, i didn't find the yogurt bowls tasty, plain yogurt with some toppings that were too little for the amount of yogurt and their price
A great light lunch of yogurt, muffin/bread and juice. The meal combo is value priced and quite delicious. There is plenty of space to sit and socialize. A large table upstairs can hold 6 people comfortably. I have come here a few times now, and have never been disappointed.
