Beautiful location, but way too many tables crammed into a too small space to get as many people in the venue as they possibly can. I made reservations for 6 for a high tea on Saturday for a bachelorette party and ended up in the most crowded part of the restaurant where it was very warm. We were so close to the table next to us that food and hot tea had to be passed down from the head of the table because the waiters couldn't get to the side of the table. A big no no when handling hot tea in heavy cast metal kettles. The tables were very high with high chairs, which made it all less comfortable to sit down for a longer amount of time (2 hours for a high tea).
Another thing is that the images for a high tea on the website for a high tea NO WHERE resemble what you actually get when you get there. We expected romantic china and brass tier serving stands, but got heavy castmetal tea kettles and stone serving trays. Not what I expected paying €21,50 per head. The food was okay.
Will not come here again, sad since the waiters were very nice.
We went here for high tea on a Saturday afternoon. It is definitely the best option for high tea that we've experienced in Utrecht. We requested all courses to be vegetarian and the kitchen was happy to modify a few things for us. The scones were particularly nice, with a great crust and flaky, buttery inside. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and unlike some places, there is plenty of space here so you don't feel crushed up against the next table.
